General

What is TourneyDonk?
TourneyDonk is a poker staking marketplace — the trust-first alternative to DMs, Twitter threads, and handshake deals. Players (Donks) list tournament packages and sell fractional action. Backers (Stablemasters) browse verified players, buy a piece, and get paid proportionally when their player cashes. Real escrow. Verified stats. No spreadsheets.
How does staking work?
A player sells a percentage of their tournament action. If they cash, backers receive that same percentage of their winnings (adjusted for markup). A player selling 50% at 1.2x markup means each backer's $120 buys $100 worth of action — if the player wins $10,000, the 50% pool gets $5,000, distributed proportionally among all backers who funded it. Platform calculates and distributes automatically at settlement.
How is TourneyDonk different from selling action on forums or Twitter?
Four things that forums and DMs simply cannot offer:

Real escrow — your money is platform-held, not sitting in a player's PayPal until they feel like sending it back.
Verified stats — ROI, ITM%, and tournament history auto-imported from poker databases, not self-reported.
Anti-freeroll protection — platform enforces minimum 15% player equity. They can't sell 100% at markup and profit from busting.
Automated settlement — no spreadsheets, no group chats doing math at 2am, no disputes over rounding.
Is this legal?
Yes. TourneyDonk facilitates Performance Sponsorship Contracts — not securities. Backers sponsor a player's tournament entry and share in potential winnings. This is a well-established model in poker (stables have existed for decades). We are not a securities offering — we don't use "investor," "returns," or "investment" language because this is a sponsorship arrangement, not a financial product.
How does escrow work?
Every dollar flows through a defined escrow lifecycle: pending → funded → in_progress → settled/cancelled. When a backer buys action, funds lock immediately and are never in the player's hands until settlement. After the tournament, the player uploads their result. Platform verifies and calculates payouts — then distributes to all backers' wallets automatically. If a package fails to hit its fire threshold, escrow cancels and every backer is refunded in full.
What fees does TourneyDonk charge?
Account Load Fee: 2.9% + $0.30 on deposits (Stripe processing cost — we pass it through at cost).
Escrow Guarantee Fee: 5% deducted from payouts at settlement — only charged when someone gets paid.
Browsing the marketplace, creating packages, and buying action are free. No subscription. No hidden fees.
Is my money safe?
Yes. Funds are escrow-protected from the moment you buy action — they are never in the player's control until settlement is verified. Players cannot access backer funds before the tournament completes. Identity verification is required to sell action, and all accounts are subject to platform dispute resolution if anything goes wrong.
What tournaments are supported?
TourneyDonk is platform-agnostic. Any online or live tournament can be listed — WSOP, WPT, EPT, PokerStars, GGPoker, ACR, or local casino stops. Players set the tournament details when creating their package. The platform focuses on escrow, verification, and settlement mechanics — it doesn't restrict which tournaments you can list.

For Stablemasters

How do I find players to back?
Browse the marketplace and filter by markup, buy-in size, ROI, average buy-in (ABI), action availability, and tournament type. Each player's listing shows their Core Metrics alongside their live packages. Sort by what matters to you — ROI for stats hunters, markup for value seekers, or buy-in range to match your budget.
How do I know a player is legit?
Every player who sells action has completed government ID verification. Their Core Metrics — ROI, ITM%, Volume, Average Buy-In (ABI), P/L, and GPI Rank — are auto-verified from poker databases, not self-reported. You're reading numbers from actual tournament records. No padding, no cherry-picked timeframes.
What are sponsor perks?
Business backers can negotiate sponsor perks directly with players as part of their staking arrangement. There are 8 perk categories: Apparel (logo on jersey), Social Media (shoutouts, story coverage), Merchandise (branded gear), Media & Press (interviews, features), On-Table Branding (visible at the felt), Event Presence (VIP access), Content Creation (branded video/photos), and Digital (website placement, email mentions). Perks are set per package.
Can I buy a small piece of a big tournament?
Yes. Fractional action starts at $10. A $25K WSOP Main Event player's package can be backed by 50 Stablemasters at $500 each — you don't need to fund the whole thing. This lets you diversify across multiple players and tournaments instead of concentrating risk in one stake.
What's markup and what's fair?
Markup is the premium you pay above face value. 1.0x = no markup (you pay exactly what the action is worth). 1.5x = maximum on TourneyDonk. This cap protects you — unlike other platforms where markup is uncapped and elite players can demand 2.0x+. Players with strong ROI and high demand typically list at 1.2x–1.4x. Newer players often list at 1.0x to build their reputation.
What happens if the player busts?
You lose your stake — that's the inherent risk of poker staking. But escrow ensures the player actually played in the tournament (not just took your money and ran), and verified stats help you make informed decisions before backing. The platform requires result verification before marking any package as a bust.
How do payouts work after a cash?
Automated. The player uploads their result and finish position. Platform calculates each backer's proportional payout — applying markup correctly and splitting by stake percentage across all Stablemasters. Your share lands in your wallet. Zero math required on your end, zero group chat coordination, zero disputes about rounding errors.
What's the secondary market? Can I sell my position? Live
Yes — the secondary market is live. If you've backed a player and want to exit your position mid-tournament, you can list it for sale on the secondary market. Other Stablemasters can browse and buy your position at whatever price you set.

To list a position: Go to My Action → Investing, find the stake you want to sell, and click the 🔄 List button. You'll set the percentage to sell, your asking price, and how long the listing stays active (24h, 48h, 72h, or 1 week). A quick email verification confirms the listing.

To buy a position: Visit Marketplace → Secondary Market to browse live listings. Filter by price range, discount, or expiry. Click any listing to see full tournament and player details, then confirm your purchase. Funds are deducted from your wallet immediately and ownership transfers instantly.

Pricing: You set the price — above or below what you originally paid. Listing at a discount lets you exit quickly. Listing at a premium locks in profit if the player is running deep. A 5% platform fee is deducted from the trade price (paid by the seller).

Ownership transfer: The new owner inherits all rights of the original position. At settlement, payouts go to whoever currently holds the position — not the original buyer.
What if there's a dispute?
Open a dispute through the platform and submit evidence. TourneyDonk's dispute resolution process reviews the case — funds stay frozen in escrow until the dispute is resolved. Platform staff review evidence from both parties and make a binding determination. No more "he said / she said" with zero recourse.
What stops a player from lying about results?
Players submit verified result documentation — tournament receipts, screenshots, and finish positions that the platform cross-references. All result submissions are reviewed before funds are released or returned. Identity-verified accounts add additional accountability — there's a real, verified person behind every listing.
What if a player sells action on multiple platforms simultaneously?
TourneyDonk's anti-freeroll protection requires players to retain a minimum 15% equity in every package — maximum 85% sellable. The platform enforces this cap and monitors for overselling within TourneyDonk packages. Players selling action outside the platform simultaneously is a trust issue beyond platform scope — our escrow protects you for the action you buy here, regardless of what happens elsewhere.
How do I fund my account or withdraw winnings?
Wallet Hub in the app. Deposit via credit/debit card (2.9% + $0.30 Stripe processing). Winnings and refunds land automatically in your wallet balance. Withdraw to your bank account at any time — withdrawals are free and typically process within 2–5 business days. First withdrawal has a 48-hour security hold (standard fraud prevention).

How do I sell action on TourneyDonk?
60-second package creation wizard. Set your tournament, choose how much action to sell (up to 85%), pick your markup (1.0x–1.5x via interactive slider), set your fire threshold, and add a deadline. You'll see a live preview of what your listing looks like to Stablemasters before you publish. Hit submit — you're live on the marketplace immediately.
What's the anti-freeroll rule?
You must keep a minimum 15% of your own action. Maximum sellable is 85%. This is enforced by the platform — you cannot publish a package that violates this rule. The reason: it aligns your incentives with your backers. If you retain 15%, you always have skin in the game. Your Stablemasters know you're playing to win, not just collecting their money and running.
How does markup work for me?
Set your markup via interactive slider from 1.0x to 1.5x. At 1.0x, backers pay exactly face value for your action — no premium. At 1.5x, backers pay 50% above face value, which gets added to your effective buy-in return. Higher markup means you earn more per unit of action sold — but it also raises the bar for your backers' expected value. Strong ROI history justifies higher markup. New players typically start at 1.0x–1.1x.
How does the fire threshold work?
The fire threshold is the minimum funding percentage your package must hit by the deadline for it to activate. You set it — for example, 60% means you need at least 60% of your sellable action sold before deadline, or the package auto-cancels and every backer is fully refunded. This protects you from entering a tournament underfunded. If your package hits the threshold, it goes live even if it's not 100% sold.
What if my package doesn't fully fund?
Two outcomes: If funded amount is above your fire threshold, the package activates and you play with whatever was sold. The unsold portion remains your own action. If funded amount is below your fire threshold by the deadline, the package auto-cancels — all escrowed funds return to backers, and you can re-list for a different tournament or adjust your terms.
How fast do I get paid after cashing?
Fast. Upload your result and finish position — platform calculates your share of the prize pool after backer distributions and the 5% escrow guarantee fee. Your net amount is credited to your wallet automatically. From there, withdraw to your bank. First settlement for new accounts has a standard 48-hour verification hold; subsequent settlements are instant to wallet.
Can I offer sponsor perks to attract business backers?
Yes. When creating a package, you can enable sponsor perks from 8 categories: Apparel, Social Media, Merchandise, Media & Press, On-Table Branding, Event Presence, Content Creation, and Digital. Business Stablemasters specifically look for players offering perks because it turns backing into a marketing channel with measurable reach. Perks can meaningfully increase your demand and funding speed. See For Business for how brands think about this.
What stats are shown on my profile?
Your public profile shows Core Metrics auto-verified from poker databases: ROI (return on investment), ITM% (in-the-money rate), Volume (tournaments played), ABI (average buy-in), P/L (profit/loss), and GPI Rank (Global Poker Index ranking, if applicable). These are not self-reported — they come from verified tournament history. Your trust score, identity verification badge, and settling history are also visible.
